    Most of the 683 “Coldfusion is dead” hits come from ColdFusion users talking about the very few references to “ColdFusion is dead” that were published by non-ColdFusion bloggers and magazines! So those 683 hits are mostly self generated by the CF community! Got to laugh!

    Guys, if you stop typing or making reference to “coldfusion is dead” then the notion that ColdFusion may be dead will be consigned to the dustbin, which is what we want, isn’t it?

    If Google is any kind of barometer then…
    Love is dead: 626,000
    Democracy is dead: 54,000
    Freedom is dead: 22,900
    Innovation is dead: 14,100
    Linux is dead: 19,500
    Microsoft is dead: 34,600
    Group s*x is dead: no results found – Oooh!

    Nah, you got to take it by percentages….

    Percentage of dead mentions related to total mentions:

    Java 0.000241%
    PHP 0.00000466%
    Cobol 0.00133%
    ColdFusion 0.000255%

    It would appear that Cobol’s pretty dead and CF is just as dead as Java is. PHP is healthy and living well it would seem….

    It’s like saying that we are in a recession. Constantly saying it is not exactly going to help us out of it.

    Do a search on dice.com for java jobs…it is far from dead. Same with a lot of these other techs. Dead in the blogosphere dead in the market. I’m all .Net but I appreciate what Java, PHP, and other technologies have brought and continue to bring to the table.
