A typical question from a client arose, “who’s using CF in the UK?” so a quick Google search using the filetype operator to get a rough idea, revealed some interesting results. It was only a ‘rough’ search so don’t start commenting about the ones hiding the cfm extension etc.

I think by far my favourite CF powered site is ReaderSheds.co.uk!!!

Interesting that in the Google filetype search, Scotsman.com comes up top, although virtually all the Scotsman sites are now running on .NET (with a bizarre ".jp" file extension!)…

John, your search terms contain ‘uk’ as a keyword, you’d be better to filter with the ‘pages in the UK’ option…

http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=filetype%3Acfm&meta=cr%3DcountryUK%7CcountryGB

you can add me to the list – the site is hosted in the US but run from the UK :-)

Wow, readersheds.co.uk – what a site! I should submit my dad’s shed, it’s better than that lot :)

as alternatives:
"site:uk filetype:cfm"
"inurl:uk filetype.cfm"

kind regards, Joel

Don’t forget UK based sites that are hosted in the US… for instance, ahem, Feed-Squirrel.com and Flex-docs.com

guys, as i said – it was a ‘rough’ search – i knew it wouldn’t catch all of them nor am I suggesting my search syntax is a ‘catch all’ for UK cfm sites.

Two I know of are macworld.co.uk and 192.com.

yeah we came up with them along with;

UK Vodafone Shop
GMTV
Brittany Ferries
RAF
Sky
Premier Foods

to name but a few…
