Transistor Rodeo Audiobook

podcasting No Comments »

I thought I’d just ‘big up’ the audio book Transistor Rodeo that I’ve been listening too. It’s a FREE audiobook by Mark Yoshimoto Nemcoff - he used to be screen writer or something, he reads the book himself as well as scoring the music. It’s a really good listen, kid safe too! I shan’t ruin the story but if you like robots and action it’s definitely worth checking out.

iTunes - Smart Playlists - or not?

Apple No Comments »

Why can’t smart play lists be smart? I mean, if you build a play list that looks for say unplayed podcasts - when i’ve listened to the podcast (and iTunes knows the play count is 1) on my ipod why can’t it disappear from the playlist on my ipod. As soon as i sync it goes, so why can’t it be live on my device? It seems a pretty simple request to me….

Adobe release Photoshop Express Beta

Adobe No Comments »

Adobe has today released Photoshop Express, a web based version of Photoshop allowing users to upload images to a gallery, share them via a .photoshop.com domain, import from various online photostores (no Flickr yet) and then of course edit the photo. Functions appear limited to basic crop, colour correction and effects but more than enough for the average person to ‘tweak’ photos.

Try it out yourself. Registering only lets you pick USA as your country but it works if you pick it and are outside of the USA.

Blu-Ray Specification requires internet connection

general 1 Comment »

Blu-Ray specifications currently under development require an internet connection - interesting! I guess since most of the drives are software upgradable that means that with an internet connection that process could be made automatic as well as providing a mechanism for key revocation?? What if the internet connection was used as an authorisation process for actually playing the content?
