Readers, I need your help….
Imagine you’re reading a newspaper and you see an advert for a product - the URL has the domain followed by an incentive code, the product is exactly what you want so when you visit the site do you enter the domain and the incentive code?
What if it were a clean URL and you click through to the web site and you see a pop up (or DHTML popup) asking you how you found the site? Do you immediately close the pop up? Do popup/surveys (apart from being annoying) damage a site’s image?
I would really appreciate thoughts from you guys via comments on this topic…have i missed a way to be able to track offline campaigns?

I’ll try checkout with and without if I’m buying to see what difference it makes.

POPups - yuk. Don’t ask me when i hit the site as that would put me of stright away. If a user is going to buy something ask them how they found it in the check out process. If they’re not going to buy do you need the stats anyway?
