This week i’m on a VB.Net (Gasp!) course up in London so i’m having to catch a train then the tube to get me to my destination…I love my iPod so naturally it’s with me each day but i got fed up of having my iPod at max volume (The French are to blame for EU wide volume limitations) and still being able to hear the train noise etc etc….so in my lunch break i nipped out to the Apple Store on Regents street and picked up myself a pair of Sennheiser CX300 Noise Isolating earphones. Oh my god - the difference between the £20 stock headphones and these little beauties is phenomenal - for a mere £40!! They sit right in your ear canal and block all external noise (be careful crossing the road) consequently you feel totally immersed in the music and I tell you, you can’t hear a tube training approaching over music! Hey Apple, what about a headphone free iPod option….? Let the consumer decide what eaphones to get maybe?

I have a pair of those, and they are tremendous. I use them in the office and for the bus journeys to/from work. I find developing a whole heap easier to concentrate on with all the background office noise blocked out (no one calls me anyway!)
Might depress you to know you can pick up a brand new pair, in original packaging for a £4 on ebay though. Still, easily worth the £40 I’d say.
