I particularly liked this line;

MySpace.com’s average server CPU utilization went from 85% to 27% after moving (from another technology) to ASP.NET 2.0

This came up on Cf-talk and i thought I’d post it here…probably best just to read it off the New Atlanta site as I found it quite hard to believe at first, but a neat idea to get the product out there!

Curry vs…

Blogging No Comments »

Just a quick update on Adam Curry vs the Dutch gossip magazine. The ruling came through last week and in the end they said that the magazine did break the law and any future infringements would land them a fine of $1000.

The endangerment of his 15 year old daughter, Christina was dismissed but in a further twist Adam has ordered a ‘flash mob’ to bug the editor of the magazine in Holland.

There’s further information on the case here.

Krugle sounds like it’s going to be interesting.

Testing Creative Commons

flickr 1 Comment »

Podcaster Adam Curry was recently in court regarding a Dutch magazine publishing photos from his Flickr collection in a gossip magazine. Despite the pictures having a Creative Commons license tagged to them, the magazine claim that because the photo is marked ‘public’ then it can be used anywhere and also because Flickr provide different sizes of the image, the hires is obviously for print publishing! No decision has been reached yet so it’ll be interesting to see what direction the judge takes.
