Just found out that on Friday night the first website I worked on at my new job www.royal-arsenal.co.uk (a redevelopment of the old weapons factories in East London) won the Daily Mail, ‘Best Developers Website’ of 2005…not worth much but something nice to achieve! Congrats on the reward
without meaning to sound rude I have to question what sites the judges to this competition were looking at. I could list several property sites I’ve seen that are heaps beeter that this. Theres litle engaging in the sites design, and the content is somewhat repetiaive and verbose.
Sorry John

Would you care to share the URL’s? - we’re talking Property Developer websites, not Property websites - so the likes of Smartnewhomes, RightMove, Findaproperty don’t count. Thanks for the comments though!

Quit raining on the lads parade and let em be
Its fine, websites aren’t always about "Dazzling special effects"
I’ve worked on sites like Billabong and what not, and they have recieved countless awards and its simply rewarding to see people recognise the work contributed by the development team.
Yet, personally i could count a million sites that are better if it was just down to design.
*shrug* eye is in the beholder..
POSSIBILITYISNOWHERE (is it possibility is now here or possibility is no where)
- point - interpretation is everything.

I’m not raining on the Lads perrade - far from it - I said congrats on the reward.
I simply questioned the judges decision - I peronaly think there are better property developer sites out there

Of course reqrds are great, and achievements should be commended, but for me the Royal Arsenal site is a poor demonstation of design. It doesn’t scream luxury to me.

I agree, Royal Arsenal isn’t the slickest of designs and I built the thing! (John did the clever bits). Although, I’m not so sure your examples are particularly fantastic, and at least ours is standards compliant.
Now this is a property site: Green Quarter (All in Flash, but very slick)
Funnily enough, St. George (Pete’s examples) is a sister company to Berkeley Homes and it’s a possibility that we’ll get our hands on those sites too, we’ll try to "scream luxury" a bit louder next time
